Swedish pop icon and Eurovision legend Loreen has just announced her headline show in Dublin’s Opium Room on November 7. The good news doesn’t end there, as GCN has two tickets for the show to give away to one lucky reader!
After winning Eurovision 2023 earlier in May, Loreen carved her name in history as the first woman to win the song contest twice. The singer-songwriter first came onto the public’s radar in 2004 when she competed in Swedish Idol, after which she released her first single, ‘The Snake’.
Climbing the Swedish charts all the way to number 9, Loreen came back to the public eye in 2011 with a new song, ‘Your Heart is Refusing Me’.
Her claim to fame was solidified by the critically acclaimed platinum record ‘Euphoria’. Winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014, the Eurodance sensation got 372 points from 40 out of 42 voting countries. The song hit the UK single charts at number 3, going on to remain in the Top 20 for weeks following the contest.
Trying her luck at competing in Eurovision for the fourth time, Loreen succeeded, and her song ‘Tattoo’ was released on all platforms.
It debuted at number one in Sweden and brought the artist her second number one in her home country. ‘Tattoo’ won Sweden its record-leveling seventh Eurovision with a whopping 583 points.
