Watch: Heartstopper drops emotional Season 3 trailer and we can’t cope

With Heartstopper set to return in just a few weeks, the show has built even more excitement with the release of the official Season 3 trailer. The beloved queer series dropped the clip on Tuesday, September 17, sparking a frenzy of reactions on social media.

Soundtracked by Griff’s ‘Vertigo’, the trailer shows all of the fan-favourite characters as they continue to navigate teenage life. Themes of mental health, sex and gender are hinted at throughout, teasing episodes full of powerful and emotional conversations.

Viewers also get a sneak peek at new cast members, including Jonathan Bailey in his role as Jack Maddox.

 

According to the official Season 3 synopsis: “Charlie and Nick are ready to take things to the next level. As they get closer in every way, they face their relationship’s biggest challenge yet.

It continues: “Charlie would like to tell Nick that he loves him. Nick also has something important to say to Charlie. As the summer holiday ends and the months race on, the friends begin to realise that the school year will come with both its joys and its challenges.

“As they learn more about each other and their relationships, plan social events and parties and start thinking about university choices, everyone must learn to lean on those they love when life doesn’t go to plan.”

Fans are already reacting to the trailer, with one writing: “This season is going to be SO important for SO many people for So many reasons”.

Another said: “I can’t help but think what a difference it would’ve made to my life if this was what was on TV when I was a teenager.”

 

On a more lighthearted note, one viewer joked: “HEARTSTOPPER TRAILER JUST RECEIVED A 30 MINUTE STANDING OVATION FROM ME WHILE HIDING IN THE BATHROOM AT WORK”.

 

Someone else shared: “I’m NOT sorry for the person I’m about to become when this is out”.
