The time is finally here; Newry Pride 2026 is set for Saturday, August 22, organised by LGBTQ+ Women’s Group Newry!
The parade will start from the Newry Leisure Centre at 1pm, making its way down Monaghan Street onto Merchants Quay and around Sugar Island. It will then conclude in Marcus Square, where there will be a party.
The party following the amazing parade will feature performances and entertainment for all Pride-goers, including Blu Hydrangea, George Heuston, Susi Pagel and Newry’s own rising rock band Ashgrove. The whole day will also feature plenty of family-friendly entertainment, from crafty corners to circus acts and face painters, as well as education on all the important LGBTQ+ organisations.
And if you’re wondering how to keep the celebration going, there will be an afterparty at The Whistlin’ Donkey with a cabaret show! This event will feature drag kings and queens, burlesque and much more to look forward to.
There will be other events included across the day such as a live bands show at The Bookshelf, The Wolf Is In live at Joe Magees, and Miss Auntie Marie’s Brutal Bingo Show at Bellinis.

The week leading up the Pride march in Newry will also be filled with many exciting events to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, such as Pride Movie Night on August 12, when Priscilla Queen of the Desert will screen at Ballybot House, and a Literature Night at Finegan & Sons on August 14.
The morning of August 15, there will be a Park Run for Pride at Newry Greenway, and the Ballybot House discussion on the Bill of Rights will be the highlight of August 18.
