Global beauty retailer Lush Cosmetics has joined forces with Disability Power Ireland with its Access All Areas soap bar to raise funds for the organisation’s 2027 Pride celebrations. Launched on August 6, 75% of the profits will go towards the organisation.
Co-created by Heather Edwards, Disability and Chronic Illness Network Chair at Lush, the Access All Areas soap has a number of accessible design features, including a handheld non-slip rope and Braille spelling out the word ‘soap’.
Edwards said, “This soap was designed with intention: from its easy-grip shape and helpful rope, eliminating the need to bend or struggle through to the high-contrast design and Braille labelling that allows it to be identified independently.
“For us, this isn’t just about a product, it’s about ensuring everyone can enjoy a restorative, stress-free moment with dignity,” she added.

This comes after the Disability Pride and Power Parade and Festival was paused in 2026 due to a lack of resources and capacity at the time. It is hoped that the appropriate funds can be raised for the celebration, which is planned to take place in July 2027.
Disability Power Ireland is a grassroots, cross-impairment Disabled Persons’ Organisation (DPO), run entirely by and for disabled people.
Founder Maryam Madani explained the work they do, saying: “Our government does a great job of hiding just how badly they treat disabled people and all its citizens in this country. Our job at Disability Power Ireland is to fight against this as much as we can, by strengthening, uniting and connecting the disability rights movement at a grassroots level.”
The Access All Areas soap can be purchased on the Lush website, and direct support for Disability Power Ireland’s next Pride celebration can be given through their website.
Previously, Lush has partnered with other LGBTQ+ organisations to raise awareness and funds. Its 2025 Trans Rights and Visibility campaign saw the launch of its Liberation Bath Bomb, with 75% of the profits going to partners TransActual and My Genderation in the UK and Transgender Equality Network Ireland (TENI) in Ireland.
The cosmetics company has also been awarded and recognised for its zero tolerance for animal testing, its dedication to environmental regeneration and the use of its waste-free ‘naked packaging’.
