Brendan Jordan regularly gets abuse for being “too flamboyant” or “too gay” even from within the LGBT community. This is what he has to say back.

Self professed diva, Brendan Jordan, shot to internet stardom after he was caught on camera laying down some fierce Gaga-inspired moves at a mall opening Las Vegas.

Since the clip went viral (over 4 million hits so far) Brendan has been doing the talk show circuit, most notably The Queen Latifah Show, and uploading to his own YouTube channel on a regular basis. But things haven’t been plain sailing for the 15 year-old. Brendan says that he regular receives hateful comments from within the LGBT community, saying that he is a “stereotype”.

“I don’t let anyone define who I am, because I am comfortable in my own skin. They think ‘oh this kid is going to set us 50 years back’ – but if you think about it, it’s you who is doing it because that is your internalised homophobia. You are spreading hate.”
