Watch the emotional moment when a 14 year-old trans girl who has been waiting to start taking oestrogen hormones for over two years, finally gets her prescription.

A beautiful video of Erica Maison surprising her daughter Corey with her first hormones has gone viral, racking up close to 3 million views in a few days. Corey first came out as trans at 11 years old.

“She loved to dress in high heels and dresses. In public she wore boy clothes — I just assumed she might be gay,” Erica told Buzzfeed after the video went viral.

But since coming out, Erica has been has been supportive ever since.

“She squeezed me,” she said, when she surprised her daughter with the prescription. “I stopped the camera so I could hug her back. Neither of us let go for what seemed like an eternity”.

“We were both crying and shaking. She literally took my breath away, as she has never given me a hug like that before. I have never felt so much love from her than that moment. It was a mixture of pure joy, and relief from us both.”
