Elton John spoke to Ellen DeGeneres about the joys of fatherhood and marriage
The 68-year-old singer spoke to Ellen about the effect his two son’s two sons Zachary, 5, and Elijah, 3, have had on his life.
“If you’d have said to me 10 years ago I’d be sitting on your show married to the man I loved and have two beautiful children, I’d say you had put acid in my drink,” he said.
“But life throws you challenges and life throws you curve balls and great curveballs, and these two children have come along at a time when I never thought I’d have children. They are the greatest thing in our lives. There is no words to describe how much we love those boys. They’re just amazing.”
Elton told Ellen he’d just celebrated one year of marriage to husband David Furnish having been together for over eleven years.
“We got married in December, on the anniversary of our civil partnership,” he said.
Elton told Ellen that his sons were both musically inclined and at the end of the interview, DeGeneres presented the singer with two red miniature grand pianos, one for each of his sons.
Elton was on the show to promote the release of his 32nd studio album, Wonderful Crazy Night, due out on 5 February.
