RTÉ 2’s upcoming documentary series ‘Then Comes Marriage?’ are looking for LGBT couples to explore their relationship in the surrounds of a luxury retreat

RTÉ Two are looking for couples to take part in a documentary television series called ‘Then Comes Marriage?’ that will be the ultimate relationship bootcamp for those looking to commit to one another for life.

The series will take place in an idyllic, luxury retreat where couples are removed from the hustle and bustle of the quotidian.

“Under the guidance of Ireland’s leading relationship experts,” a spokesperson for the upcoming series said, “three couples will spend a fun-packed, eye-opening two days together completing a series of specially-designed challenges aimed at getting to know your partner better.”

“This unique relationship skills crash course is an opportunity for couples thinking of life-long commitment to gain valuable insight into their relationship, as well as an opportunity to have some fun together at a stunning location.”

In Good Hands

The bootcamp will be lead by psychoanalyst Dr. Ray O’Neill (from GCN’s ‘Dear Dr. Ray’ segment) and psychologist Allison Keating. Both Dr. O’Neill and Mrs. Keating deal with issues surrounding relationships.

Ray, as “Ireland’s only resident male Agony Aunt […] writes significantly (and sometimes with significance) about love, relationships, and desire in the twenty-first century.”

“He works mainly, but not exclusively within the LGBT community, where he has acted as a director of the Gay Switchboard Dublin, and an LGBT and Mental Health social advocate.”

Allison has her own private psychology practice in Malahide which sees her dealing with “relationship breakdowns, infidelity, anger, anxiety, trust issues and many other psychological concerns such as panic attacks, depression, eating disorders, self-esteem and bullying.”

A regular psychological contributor in the media, Allison’s approach is informed by the research of Dr. John Gottman, an international expert in marriages and relationships.

How To Apply

The series is open to any couple in a relationship – you do not have to engaged to take part.

Couples must be available for filming over a two day period in September 2016. Final dates and location to be confirmed.
