Kristen Stewart stunned critics at Cannes Film Festival for her performance alongside Juliette Bincoche and Chloe Grace Moretz in Clouds of Sils Maria, a drama surrounding a lesbian love triangle.

Kristen Stewart has been struggling to prove herself as a serious actress after her role in The Twilight Saga, but the 24 year-old received a standing ovation at Cannes for her role in Clouds of Sils Maria.

The film centres around the relationship between aging actress Maria Enders (Binoche) and her young personal assistant, Valentine (Stewart). Chloe Grace Moretz stars as a teenage actress who is offered the role of the ingenue in a remake of the film that made Enders famous when she was 18, while Enders is asked to play the role of an older woman.

Critics are hailing Kristen Stewart’s Valentine as the stand out performance from the French film festival, and the drama has received mostly positive reviews.
