Bowties, t-shirts, badges, balloons, and other items have flooded the CHQ space in vibrant colors. Promoting an open space, the aim of the shop is to give people the opportunity to stop in for chats and learn about Pride. “It’s also an information hub, we want you to come and enjoy what we have here,” said Pride Manager Eddie McGuinness.

The t-shirts promoting the rainbow revolution theme come in three colours: black, pink, and white. So everyone gets a chance to match their own personal style.

The shop is being set up around the aim of bringing everyone together. “We want people to come in and have a chat with us,” said Eddie McGuinness. The theme of togetherness runs throughout the shop, even down to Dublin based brands making the t-shirts.

“We are setting up a shop here to raise a bit of money and awareness for Dublin LGBTQ Pride,” said Sean O’Brien, a member of Dublin Pride. He described the shop as “your one stop shop” for all Pride essentials. From face paint to caps, the store is packed with everything needed to celebrate Pride in style.

There is a sense of excitement and readiness throughout the store. In the window there is a large red 50 balloon putting Pride history front and centre. Throughout the week, the shop will also be promoting photographs depicting the history of Pride.

The CHQ building is working closely with the Pride team to make all this possible and will also be hosting Pride Festival LGBT+ Tours.

Doors will be opened at 10am to 6pm on Friday. From next week, information packs and wristbands will be available for the community groups and Pride partners who are marching in the parade.

Pride guides are also available to be picked-up in the store.

The pop-up Pride shop will be running up to Friday June 28.
