Veteran actress Mary Steenburgen has signed on to appear in the third season of ‘Orange is the New Black’.

Season two of Orange is the New Black has only been out for just over a week but already news of season three is sending fans into a tizzy. Mary Steenburgen, know for roles in pretty much everything from Back to the Future III to The Help and Elf, has confirmed that she will star in the next season. Hurrah!

Steenburgen announced the news over her Twitter last week, writing, “Very excited to go to my first wardrobe fitting of Oitnb! Will I be in orange or black?” The actress quickly deleted the tweet after posting it.

No details have been announced about what role Steenburgen will take on – possibly a new warden? Or maybe a badass inmate? Only time will tell.

Season three of Orange is the New Black is currently in pre-production and is set for release next summer.
