Galway Community Pride has made a special announcement that, for the first time ever, they will be doing a Winter Pride this December.
The Galway Community Pride committee said: “As a committee, we’ve been thinking for a couple of months now how we can do more for the community all year round.”
Galway Pride holds the record for the longest-running consecutively running Pride in Ireland.
Hundreds of people turned out to join in the Galway Pride parade in the city in August.

The parade was a culmination of a week-long Pride Festival, which celebrated its 30th anniversary this year.
This year, the city of Galway voted to raise the rainbow flag at City hall to commemorate Galway Prideâs 30th year in a unanimous vote.
Owen Hanley said on this decision: âThe rainbow flag will fly to mark our progress that has been made, in solidarity with the struggles still to be won across the world, and in unity with our community in the North.â

The 2o19 Galway Summer Pride also say the debut of Black Pride Ireland who marched in the parade and hosted an afterparty.
Galway Pride 2020 will be on August 10-16 next year. Taking place during Galway 2020 as the city hosts the Captial of Culture.
“We know people in the West want more Pride and more LGBT+ spaces and we want to give it to them. At the end of October, we held Halloween Pride which was a great success for us.”

The Committee went on to say: “For these reasons, we’re excited to announce Galway will have our very first Winter Pride this December!”
“The Winter period can be a difficult time for everyone, but especially so for the LGBT+ community. For us, this is about giving and providing a sense of found family at an important time of year.”
“We are deep into planning a number of events over a Pride-themed weekend.
“More details will be available on soon on our social media and at our public meeting we’re holding on the 3rd!”
