Ryan Murphy’s ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ has come out with 19 Emmy nominations – second only to ‘Game of Thrones’ which has 24.
Nominations for the 67th Emmy Awards were announced yesterday in a ceremony hosted by Television Academy Chairman and CEO Bruce Rosenblum along with Uzo Aduba from Orange Is The New Black and presenter Cat Deeley.
The fourth season of Ryan Murphy’s horror anthology series racked up an impressive 19 nominations, just missing out on the top spot after Game of Thrones which is nominated in 24 categories.
Among the awards that Freak Show is up for, include Outstanding Limited Series,
Jessica Lange, who left American Horror Story after the last season, is up for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Limited Series Or A Movie, for her role as Elsa Mars. Sarah Paulson is also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Limited Series Or A Movie, for her portrayal of conjoined twins Dot and Bette Tattler.
Orange Is The New Black is also nominated for its second consecutive season, but in the drama category instead of comedy. The Netflix series is up for four awards on the night.
