With 92% of Kenyans disapproving of homosexuality, you may be surprised to know that they are also the most frequent Googlers of gay porn.

Kenya tops the Google trends rankings for both ‘gay sex pics‘ and ‘gay porn pics‘, with an extremely high search index.

With anti-gay laws rife in the country, the Kenyan citizens have not been deterred in searching for gay-themed pictures on the popular search engine.

But they aren’t alone; South Africa came second in the ranking, with Nigeria and Pakistan coming in third and fourth respectively. These are followed by India, Philippines, Australia, United States, United Kingdom and Indonesia.

In Kenya, partaking in sex “against the order of nature” can carry a prison sentence of up to 21 years; while a new anti-gay bill has been discussed by the country’s MPs wherein gay people could be sentenced to death by stoning. The bill was introduced to the National Assembly by the Republican Liberty Party.

The bill’s author, Edward Onwong’a Nyakeriga, said:

“The petition aims at providing a comprehensive and enhanced legislation to protect the cherished culture of the people of Kenya, legal, religious and traditional family values against the attempts of sexual rights activists seeking to impose their values of sexual promiscuity on the people of Kenya. […] There is need to protect children and youth who are vulnerable to sexual abuse and deviation as a result of cultural changes, uncensored information technology, parentless child developmental settings and increasing attempts by homosexuals to raise children in homosexual relationships through adoption, foster care or otherwise.”
