File this under ‘rumour mill’ and ‘no smoke without fire’ – Beyonce and Jay Z’s romance is “as dead as the wifi signal in the basement” according to D-Listed, but given they still have professional ties – the pair are currently on the road for a big pay cheque of a joint tour – they are keeping up appearances until it wraps mid September.
A source close to the couple – apparently one who likes to talk to reporters – has told Page Six that while Jay Z is mostly at fault, it is the rapper who is taking action to try to heal the broken marriage, hiring marriage counsellors to attempt to solve his 99 problems, apparently one of which is Beyonce.
Beyonce has responded to the rumours in the way she does best, with an Instagram photo showing the couple with Blue Ivy – their so-called ‘Band Aid Baby’ – enjoying a family day.
Rumours began swirling of a rift between the power couple after a video leaked online of Beyonce’s younger sister Solange violently attacking Jay Z in a lift at The Standard Hotel on the night of the Met Ball.
The Drunk In Love singer didn’t exactly put out the fire when she changed the words to several of her songs during live performances, leading fans to believe the digs were at Jay Z. Afterall, when Queen of Pop Madonna did the same on her 2008 Sticky and Sweet tour it was only a matter of months before she and her then husband Guy Ritchie confirmed the rumours with a swift divorce.
In Touch magazine reports that Beyonce is tired of Jay Z’s womanising ways – he has been linked to both British singer Rita Ora and American singer Mya – and apparently the 32 year-old singer has had just about enough, with the magazine’s front cover containing sensational teasers such as “The woman who caused Beyonce to end it all”.
Meanwhile, a worker on the couple’s tour told Star magazine how Beyonce kicked – metaphorically, we presume, though she is Solange’s sister – a large group of female groupies out of Jay Z’s room, saying “She called the women cockroaches and said they need to be fumigated. She gave death stares to every person as they filed out one by one”.
All we have to say – Jay Z be Cray-Z to trade the Queen B for a budget model.
