The holiday season is set to descend on Smithfield Square from Friday, November 28, with the arrival of TwinkleTown. In partnership with Dublin City Council, TwinkleTown is a celebration of Irish creativity, talent and community this Christmas. What’s more, GCN has a set of four tickets plus complimentary drinks to give away to one lucky reader.

Dublin City Council and TwinkleTown have gone all out this festive season, with a super-sized ice rink, stunning light installations, delicious food and drink, vintage fairground rides and the cosy TwinkleTavern – the perfect spot for a post-skate drink.

Younger visitors, meanwhile, will enjoy the much-anticipated original production – Santo Panto and the Magic Present Machine, with sensory-friendly and ISL interpreted shows available.

Under the Spiegeltent, visitors to TwinkleTown can enjoy a host of music, culture and workshops, with contributions from the Hugh Lane Gallery, Alternative Dublin, The Cobblestone Collective, Velvet and Fern, The Whileaways and The Tiny Quartet.

A visit to TwinkleTown is also the perfect opportunity to tick some items off your Christmas list, thanks to the fabulous collection of Irish vendors selling their wares. From candles to knits to artisanal food, there’s no shortage of stocking fillers on offer. TwinkleTown and Dublin City Council will be welcoming a wealth of featured businesses and artists, including Bréidín Lámhfhite Uí Dhonnchadha, Unique Oak, Kildare Candle Barn, Crafty by illina, Joelle’s Home Fragrances, Becky, Corleggy Cheeses, Sandia Dublin, Precious Amber and Cross and Thorn.

TwinkleTown is open from 11am to 9pm from Monday to Friday, and from 10am to 9pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Entry is free of charge, but some attractions – such as the panto and the ice-rink – have an additional charge. Tickets are available online and from the box office on-site.

Can’t think of a better way to get into the Christmas spirit than a leisurely skate under Christmas lights, followed by a winter warmer drink in a cosy spot? Us neither, which is why we’ve partnered with TwinkleTown to provide one GCN reader – plus three guests – passes for the super-sized ice rink and complimentary drinks afterwards.

To be in with a chance of winning, simply answer the question below.

The competition closes at 11.59pm, December 3, 2025. Winners will be contacted directly and shared on social media.
