‘Dinosaurs’ is a glimpse at the complex social history of the gay scene in Dublin told through the reflections, memories and desires of elderly gay men

DINOSAURS is an excavation of a buried subculture. The haunts and bars of the very beginning of the gay rights movement in Dublin. From the Phoenix Centre in Parnell Square to the late night dance club Flikkers in the Hirschfeld Centre – sites imperative to Dublins social Queer history will be unearthed. We’d like to offer you a peak of this time through the memories and reflections of those who frequented these spots. A glimpse of the foundation of a community, the injustice of timing, and that corner of the George which still is exclusively for DINOSAURS.
