We all have our staple go-to bars and clubs on the gay scene, but it’s always refreshing when something new is available to try on for size.
Held in Dive Bar every second Saturday from 11pm, Pop Rox is attempting to fill the void left by nights like the dearly departed Q&A and RIP. The music policy is said to be “songs with words you can dance to”, which loosely translates to a blend of pop, rock, indie – and “the odd Disney soundtrack” we’re told.
Dive Bar offers a relaxed atmosphere that’s trendy but unpretentious with a selection of craft beers and cocktails available, and with an entry fee of €5, you can hardly go wrong. The venue doesn’t take itself too seriously, and the night is all in the name of fun – you could even end up playing Jenga with your new friends!
Pop Rox takes place every second Saturday from 11pm at Dive Bar (Turks Head) on Parliament Street, Dublin 2. Make sure you don’t miss out by following PopRox on Twitter and liking it on Facebook.
