Dublin Front Runners supported by 123.ie and Arthur Cox have announced that 2022 will see the return of the in-person 5KM Dublin Pride Run. With the event occurring remotely during the Covid-19 pandemic, participants can once again come together in the country’s capital and stride with pride this June.

The 2022 Dublin Pride Run is due to take place on June 17, kicking off in Phoenix Park at 7:30pm. Entry costs €25, which includes a beautifully designed t-shirt, an environmentally friendly eco-medal and a special goodie bag.

In the ten years since its conception in 2012, the annual event has seen more than 5,000 runners participating and has raised over €90,000 for charity. This year, the race will fundraise for three extremely worthy organisations: ARC Cancer Support, Gay Health Network, and LINC.

ARC Cancer Support provides psychological, emotional, educational and practical support in a warm and welcoming environment to people with cancer and those who care for them. They help to enhance coping skills and improve quality of life, and their services are provided free of charge.

Gay Health Network (GHN) is a network of organisations and individuals in Ireland that provide sexual health support and education for gay and bisexual men who have sex with men (gbMSM). They actively promote HIV prevention and sexual health awareness, while also addressing and challenging stigma and discrimation, and commissioning vital research in this niche field.

For over twenty years, LINC has been providing support to lesbian and bisexual women in Ireland, making it the only community development organisation in the Republic to exclusively do so. The Cork-based group is committed to informing and impacting social inclusion policy and practice, and providing peer support services to all in the community.

If you were one of the wonderful folk who took part in the #GCN100KinMay challenge, why not maintain the fitness fundraising fever for a little longer, and register now for the Dublin Pride Run 2022 through myrunresults.com.

Support GCN

GCN has been a vital, free-of-charge information service for Ireland’s LGBTQ+ community since 1988.

During this global COVID pandemic, we like many other organisations have been impacted greatly in the way we can do business and produce. This means a temporary pause to our print publication and live events and so now more than ever we need your help to continue providing this community resource digitally.

GCN is a registered charity with a not-for-profit business model and we need your support. If you value having an independent LGBTQ+ media in Ireland, you can help from as little as €1.99 per month. Support Ireland’s free, independent LGBTQ+ media.
