Elton John and David Furnish to Marry on Civil Partnership Anniversary

On December 21 2005, Sit Elton John and David Furnish entered into a civil partnership – one of Britain’s first same-sex couples to do so.

As their nine-year anniversary approaches, Elton and David are allegedly planning to convert their civil partnership to marriage, just as same-sex marriage has become legal in the country.

The Daily Mirror reported that the couple are planning an intimate ceremony in their Windsor home.

Their previous ceremony – which 650 guests attended – was at the Windsor Guildhall, the same venue where the Prince of Wales and Camilla Parker Bowles married in April 2005, just eight months previous.

The usually flamboyant and over-the-top John has decided to include only close family members and friends in the upcoming ceremony, including their two children, Zachary and Elijah. The couple is reportedly hoping that their two toddlers will be ring bearers during the ceremony. Reported to attend are David and Victoria Beckham, and Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne.

This comes just five days after Elton John’s fall at the Statoil Tennis Masters, which has gone viral.
