Ian Robertson of Trinity College will lead a discussion with a group of contributors to explore facets of masculinity and male identity. Subjects range from fatherhood, heroism, and the tribal nature of sport to online addictions, sex, war, race, homophobia and the aspirations men share.

In attendance will be Dr Tom Clonan, Irish Times Security Analyst, Colm O’Gorman, the current executive director of Amnesty International in Ireland, and Damian Barr, his story of surviving small-town Scotland in the Thatcher years won The Sunday Times Memoir of the Year.

Panti Bliss In Conversation, Sunday, March 22

On February 1, 2014, Rory O’Neill aka Panti Bliss, made a Noble Call in the Abbey Theatre to the people of Ireland – a speech which has gained 700,000 Youtube views and parachuted Panti to once-unattainable levels of political activism.

Panti Bliss will appear at the Pavillion to speak about Woman in the Making, the wonderful new memoir.  It’s also the story of a misfit who turned his difference into a triumphant art form; of personal struggle and coming to terms with HIV; of political passion and activism; and of ‘Pantigate’, and the Abbey speech that touched a million lives.

Rory O’Neill aka Panti Bliss In Conversation with Damian Barr.

Sunday, March 22nd at 8.30pm Pavilion Theatre, Dun Laoghaire
