Taking place at The George on Friday, November 13, Miss Matched is a brand-new event for LGBTQ+ singles and anyone looking to meet new people or make new connections. Whether you’re looking for romance, new friends, or simply a fun night out with the community, Miss Matched is designed to bring people together. Here’s everything you need to know about the exciting event!
Expect drag performances, games, interactive activities and a few surprises, all designed to get people mixing, having fun and getting to know each other beyond the typical small talk. Forget awkward introductions; Miss Matched promises plenty of opportunities to truly break the ice.
Still afraid to take the leap? Don’t worry, drag power couple hosts The Misses are here to help. They won’t just break the ice for you; they’ll obliterate it and be on hand to keep the conversations flowing. Miss Taken and Miss Roots, who are partners on stage and in real life, will bring plenty of humour and entertainment to a night of matchmaking.
The duo are no strangers to GCN, having previously hosted My Big Fat Gay Pub Quiz and attended the Roast Battle Royale, where they were joined by Shane Daniel Byrne, Emma Doran, Louise McSharry and many more. The Misses don’t just perform together, but they also host their own podcast, National Conversations. If you want a peek at their real-life chemistry and razor-sharp wit ahead of the event, check out their podcast here.
Miss Matched will see The George transform into four separate areas, each offering a different opportunity for people to mingle and get to know one another. Expect fun activities in each area, such as arm wrestling, charades, and human bingo, alongside stage games for those brave enough to get up and take part. Spot prizes will also be up for grabs throughout the night, giving you the chance to win something alongside a potential new connection.
And if you meet that special someone or are just not ready for the night to end, the fun doesn’t stop when Miss Matched wraps up. Be sure to stick around at The George for its weekly Friday night Release, featuring go-go dancers, face painting, confetti guns, and a high-energy atmosphere to kick off the weekend. This is definitely not to be missed.
Miss Matched will also serve as a fundraiser for GCN, Ireland’s free, independent LGBTQ+ media organisation and a trading name of a registered charity, helping us continue providing this vital resource for the community. Operating on a not-for-profit model, GCN relies on limited funds and resources and has been greatly impacted by rising business costs, including rent, electricity and paper. Amid an increasingly hostile global political climate and the rise of hate and misinformation, our community needs a free, accessible and independent media organisation that tells our side of the story now more than ever.
By attending Miss Matched, you will not only meet new people and enjoy a fabulous night of entertainment, but you will also be supporting independent LGBTQ+ media in Ireland.

Support GCN
GCN is a free, vital resource for Ireland’s LGBTQ+ community since 1988.
GCN is a trading name of National LGBT Federation CLG, a registered charity - Charity Number: 20034580.
GCN relies on the generous support of the community and allies to sustain the crucial work that we do. Producing GCN is costly, and, in an industry which has been hugely impacted by rising costs, we need your support to help sustain and grow this vital resource.
Supporting GCN for as little as €1.99 per month will help us continue our work as Ireland’s free, independent LGBTQ+ media.
