142 organisations have signed a transfeminist manifesto formulated by various international groups. This mass support represents a huge act of solidarity between the trans and feminist communities.
Transgender Europe and Central Asia (TGEU) explains on social media, “This manifesto is an invitation to choose solidarity over division and to defend a future where everyone is free to live safely as themselves”.
They added, “This is our shared vision: a future where no one is left behind. Feminism wins when we choose transfeminist solidarity.”
Alongside TGEU, other collaborators include the Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID), European Network Against Racism (ENAR) and more. It is also a part of TGEU’s campaign, ‘In This Together: Transfeminist Solidarity’, which is funded by the European Union.

The document outlines an intersectional approach to combatting patriarchal oppression, acknowledging the diverse experiences of those subjugated under it. This is based on a series of principles, which involve the following: Taking action for a solidarity-based transfeminist future; Firmly believing that trans people are a part of the feminist fight; Being interdependent; Centring intersectionality; and Choosing solidarity over neutrality.
These principles are intended to inform activist mobilisation, as the manifesto states, “We call on feminists, in all our diversity, to act together and defend the shared principles that have always driven our collective fight: equality, human rights, and equal protections for everyone”.
A companion document was released titled In This Together: Strategic Messaging to Build Transfeminist Solidarity, which serves as a practical guide for feminists and allies. It also provides insight into the methodology and research behind the manifesto.
The manifesto is significant as throughout history, trans people have often been excluded from feminism, as seen with the rise of the Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist (TERF) movement.
