If you saw last night’s episode of Don’t Tell The Bride, you will know that it didn’t disappoint. It featured Brendán from Clonakilty in Cork and his fiancé Victor from Mexico.

The couple had been together for just over a year when they decided to tie the knot. All of the power was handed over to Brendán who decided to have a Harry Potter themed wedding featuring a ceremony held on “Platform 9 and 3/4’s” aka Ireland’s only Miniature Railway Village,  a reception in the  local GAA club hall that was decorated to look like the Grand Hall in Hogwarts, there was even an owl ring bearer.

This all sounds fairly adorable were it not for the fact that Victor had never read any of the Harry Potter movies or read any of the books.

To top it all off Brendán decided that they would be wearing matching Hogwarts robes. It was at this point that Victor felt he couldn’t go through with the wedding.

“You must be joking, what is this,” he says.

“What the f**k? I haven’t even seen Harry Potter! I can’t wear this. Is this a joke?”

Victor had been hoping that Brendán would choose a well-fitted tuxedo, with this Victor had to lie down to which his friends tried to comfort him and convince him that the wedding would not be a disaster…

“I can’t go to the wedding wearing this because I don’t want my wedding to be a circus. I am extremely disappointed in Brendán and I don’t know, literally, what he is thinking. He is just thinking about him, he is not thinking about us. I am not going,” he says.

We wish the newlyweds a happy future together and secretly hope that they have a second wedding that Victor plans because that would be fabulous!!
