You’ve been voting for two weeks, and based on your votes, we have narrowed the nominees down to just four hopefuls who could go home with the Entertainment Personality of the Year GALA Award sponsored by Absolut Vodka.
The shortlist for the awards, announced today, includes 2FM DJ Jenny Greene, popular Dublin entertainer Paul Ryder, former Westlife singer Marcus Feehily, and Cork’s LGBT choir Choral Confusion.
Voting for the award is open now on GALAs.ie, with the over all winner being announced at the GALAs Awards ceremony in The Shelbourne Hotel on March 6.
Absolut Vodka, long term supporters of the LGBT community in Ireland and internationally will sponsor this year’s Entertainment Personality of the Year Award at the annual GALAS.
Widely recognised as one of the first international brands to embrace the LGBT rights movement; Absolut’s support dates back to 1981 when it was one of the first major brands to advertise in gay magazines. Since then, it has pushed the boundaries of it’s packaging designs to further demonstrate its commitment to the community. “There are few brands that can honestly say they have helped to make a difference”, says Gilbert Baker, creator of the rainbow flag. “In my mind, and with my perspective, Absolut can definitely take pride in being one of those few who’ve supported Lesbian & Gay rights in times when it was needed”.
