Club Gass in the Roisín Dubh raised funds for Galway Community Pride to the tune of €2450 at their last fundraiser

To raise funds for Galway Pride this year, Club Gass held a mid-March fundraiser night in the Roisín Dubh, netting the community organisation €2450 which will go toward the Galway Community Pride festival this year.

Martin Mcmanamon, who runs Club Gass, described the night as a massive success before adding that there was a “large turnout” on the night.

“There was a large turnout with Roisín Dubh packed to capacity,” Mcmanamon said referring to the fundraising event held on 11 March 2017.

Special guest performers including drag queens Mr Pussy and Dixie Normous were on hand during the Club Gass event to delight fans.

“Ireland’s Misleading Lady Mr. Pussy took to the stage to a packed audience followed closely by many more exciting acts!”

“[Other] performances on the night were by […] Dusty Flaps, Dixie Norms, Lily Venom, Donatello D’Burqa, Martin Ward with DJ Inertia and more,” he said.

Spurred on by the incredible success of this event, Club Gass will be having another night to raise funds on 21 April with doors opening at 11pm.

The night on 21 April will be hosted by Kiki St Clair with special performances form Paul Ryder and Ivanna, and a DJ set will be played by the “very popular” DJ John.

From Strength To Strength

As Galway’s “only LGBT club night” Club Gass has gone “from strength to strength” since it’s launch in 2015.

“Club Gass is a monthly LGBT club night held in Galway’s iconic Roisín Dubh. Started back in 2015 and with the ever fabulous and talented Miss Kiki St. Clair as  host, the club has gone from strength to strength and currently serves as Galway’s only LGBT club night,” Mcmanamon said.

“While just around the corner, Nova Bar continues to fly the flag for the community.

Club Gass is proud to have “showcased a variety of act and DJs from around the country” and are constantly on the lookout for new and top-tier talent.

“Since its inception, Club Gass has also been an avid supporter of great causes such as Teach Solais’ new resource centre, AIDS West and Galway Community Pride.”

The next Club Gass will be held on Friday 21 April with doors at 11pm.
