GAZE Goes On Tour

The Case Against 8

GAZE, Ireland’s long-running annual LGBT film festival is going on tour with marriage equality documentary ‘The Case Against 8’.

The Case Against 8, directed by Ben Cotner and Ryan White, is a behind-the-scenes look inside the historic case to overturn Proposition 8, California’s ban on same-sex marriage. The film, which took 5 years to make and has been widely praised on the festival circuit, follows two gay couples who find their families at the centre of the same-sex marriage controversy.

Now in its third year, GAZE On Tour, in collaboration with access>CINEMA, a resource organisation for regional cultural film exhibition, is expanding its efforts to reach new audiences across Ireland.

“We are so excited to collaborate with access>CINEMA and announce the beginning of our tour with The Case Against 8,” says Festival Director Noel Sutton.

“So far we have 11 confirmed venues, with others still to be announced. We are working with Marriage Equality and GLEN (Gay Lesbian Equality Network) to offer Q+A sessions and panel discussions to coincide with the screenings.

“GAZE On Tour has been very successful for us for the last two years, but this will be our biggest project by far.”
