GOSHH Ireland is hiring and they’re looking for a number of people to join their work on promoting mental, emotional, physical and social well-being.
GOSHH (Gender, Orientation, Sexual Health, HIV) is a charity that provides care and prevention services relating to HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infections and other sexual health issues. Their mission is to provide a safe space for everyone and to promote wellbeing with a positive approach to sexual orientation and gender diversity. They’re based in Limerick City and operate throughout the Counties of Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary. They organise varied initiatives and events to promote sexual wellbeing, such as offering free testing for HIV.
Now, they have some vacancies on their team that they want to fill and they might be looking for you. So what are the positions they are offering?
Health Promotion Worker
This is a full-time position that will require the successful candidate to plan, develop, implement and evaluate sexual health promotion programmes. They will also focus on building the capacity of individuals, groups and communities, with particular attention placed on young people and those with additional support needs.
The main duties required to successful candidates are:
- Facilitating age-appropriate workshops on sexual health topics
- Maintaining present sexual health promotion initiatives
- Identifying communities or individuals in need of targeted sexual health messages
The deadline to apply for this position is March 28 at 10 am and in-person interviews will then be conducted in the GOSHH Office starting from April 11.
Receptionist
GOSHH is hiring a part-time Receptionist who will maintain cover on the front of house reception desk in the afternoon every weekday. Among their tasks, there will be:
- Greeting visitors and dealing with enquiries
- Providing information on GOSHH services to clients
- Participating in fundraising activities
- Assisting in the planning of events and awareness campaigns
Once again the deadline for applications is March 28 at 10 am, with in-person interviews taking place in the GOSHH Office from April 11.
Sessional Counsellors
The charity is also looking to create a panel of qualified Counsellors that will support clients on a sessional basis. The position will entail, among other things:
- Engaging in induction processes
- Conducting individual counselling with GOSHH Service Users
- Incorporating relevant legislation and agreed on policy directives into work practice
- Engaging in relevant training opportunities
