The success of cities like New York, London and Berlin as Pride destinations, drawing millions of visitors every year, is proof that the LGBTQ+ travel industry has made a splash in global tourism. It has become an almost $400bn industry, according to Coherent Market Insights, and expanding one’s horizons to see different parades around the world is becoming a priority for the LGBTQ+ community.
To find destinations that are not already overrun by tourists and some that venture out of the most popular European cities, Dragonpass, a travel and lifestyle benefits program, has put together a list of some of the best Pride parades in safe, vibrant countries and cities.
Bangkok, Thailand
As the first country in Asia to legalise same-sex marriage and enact sexuality and gender anti-discrimination laws, Thailand takes Pride seriously. The main parade often features a 500-metre rainbow flag that is held over heads, surrounded by vibrant processions. The vast and accepting nightlife across the city continues the celebrations into the night. If Bangkok isn’t enough, Phuket is also becoming widely known for its impressive celebrations in June.
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Amsterdam is already known as a European capital of Pride events and culture, but 2026 is the year to be there, as the city will host WorldPride from July 25 to August 8. The iconic Canal Parade will take place on August 1 and flow around people celebrating on the street and on boats.

Valletta, Malta
For a slightly lower-key Pride to end the summer, Valletta, Malta, offers a joyous parade and warm beaches. Malta has a reputation as one of Europe’s strongest countries for LGBTQ+ rights, and, paired with 300 days of sunshine a year, it’s an ideal destination for Pride.
Budapest, Hungary
Hungary has undergone a political shift, with the Budapest Metropolitan Police approving of and taking measures to protect the upcoming Pride festival. This comes after the new Prime Minister, Péter Magyar, promised to pursue a more liberal approach to LGBTQ+ rights when he took office several weeks ago. The city will have a week of events culminating in a parade on June 27, which is sure to be a powerful occasion, after last year’s march was done in defiance of the former Prime Minister’s Pride ban.
Montréal, Canada
Each year, Montréal hosts an impressive 11-day celebration with over 750,000 people flooding the streets to take part in Pride. The city’s famous nightlife transforms for the 11 days, with venues hosting massive dance parties. One of the largest LGBTQ+ gatherings in the French-speaking world, Fierté Montréal runs from July 31 to August 9.
Copenhagen, Denmark
For a non-nightlife-focused itinerary, Copenhagen offers a relaxed but remarkable 13-day excursion. The long hours of daylight offer beautiful days of celebration and exploring the city. Over 300,000 people attend the parade on August 16, giving spectators the opportunity to experience the local community in full force, while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere.
These Pride destinations are all available to explore through Dragonpass or through typical booking methods. Whether you’re planning to celebrate close to home or further afield, we hope you have a safe and happy Pride! To find more LGBTQ+ friendly destinations, click here.
