Ireland’s favourite mammies’ boys, PJ Kirby and Kevin Twomey, the minds behind the wildly popular I’m Grand Mam podcast, have just announced the launch of their brand new show, That’s Showbiz 2024 Tour!

Kicking off on Tuesday, May 28, at Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre, the That’s Showbiz 2024 Tour presented by I’m Grand Mam is set to feature PJ and Kevin bringing their one-of-a-kind Corkonian humour to stages around the country this summer.

In addition to the duo’s banter, fans can expect “a night of absolute skits and screams with your best girlies.”

The chart-topping podcasters, who launched I’m Grand Mam in 2019, will bring their live show on tour to theatres in Belfast, Cork, Galway, Limerick, and, of course, Dublin this May and June.

For those who haven’t listened to the podcast, the series features a weekly sit-down with PJ and Kevin as they catch up over a cuppa while “exploring the collective life landmarks that accompany growing up gay in the world today.”

In a 2022 interview with GCN, PJ and Kevin opened up about how they got into the podcasting game, with PJ telling GCN: “Initially we wanted to start a gay club night, but we were in London and no one knows us here, so what else could we do? Kevin came back from Cork one day and said, ‘We’re going to start a podcast’. I didn’t even know what it was – I was like ‘what’s a podcast?’

“He had to explain to me and then we went and bought a mic off of Amazon. We went to Budapest for my birthday and we had a few wines on the flight. We were writing down the first episode on the back of a sick bag. Afterwards, we were like, ‘Well, we’ve got the mics and we’ve got the plans, we might as well record it’,” he continued.

“We said we’d do one episode to see how it goes and in that first episode we were literally planning what we’re going to do in the podcast.”

“We were talking about potential sponsors and all!” Kevin laughed, “There was a lot of editing in the first episode. If you listen back you almost don’t know which way it will go, the voices are barely audible.”

Since then, the lads have published their first book, The I’m Grand Mamual, produced as many as 133 episodes of their chart-topping podcast, and are now preparing to set off on their first-ever tour for I’m Grand Mam

Tickets for the That’s Showbiz 2024 Tour go on sale this Friday, March 22, at 10am from Ticketmaster.
