Dior and A24 have announced a two-year partnership spanning film, theatre and live events, and it might just be the collaboration we didn’t know we needed. The partnership will centre around New York’s historic Cherry Lane Theatre, with Dior becoming the venue’s premier partner. A24 acquired the theatre in 2023 and reopened it in September 2025 after renovations.
Founded in 1923, Cherry Lane is New York’s oldest Off-Broadway theatre and has long supported playwrights and performers. Artists who have appeared on its stage over the years include Barbra Streisand, Kevin Bacon, and Sam Shepard.
To kick off the Dior and A24 partnership, the theatre will host a one-night-only performance of Both Ends, created and performed by Justin Vivian Bond and produced and directed by Zack Winokur. Inspired by poet and playwright Edna St. Vincent Millay, one of the founders of Cherry Lane, the production will feature costumes designed by Dior’s Creative Director Jonathan Anderson.
The collaboration was announced with a star-packed short film written and directed by Aidan Zamiri. Sabrina Carpenter, Camille Cottin, Josh O’Connor, Drew Starkey and Sophie Wilde all appear auditioning for the same unlikely role: that of Jonathan Anderson. Anderson also appears as himself.
“This is the start of an exciting partnership built around artists and storytelling,” Anderson said of the Dior and A24 project. He added that bringing the two creative worlds together offered the opportunity to discover ideas that neither may have reached alone.
The gay Irish designer is also preparing to bring a fashion mega house to Dublin later this year. On December 4, Dior will stage its first runway show in Ireland inside Trinity College’s iconic Old Library, where Anderson will unveil the Pre-Fall 2027 collection.
The event will be especially significant for Anderson, whose fashion career began in Dublin before he became one of today’s most influential designers, after working at Brown Thomas. Anderson has undeniably come a long way since. His collaboration with Dior and A24 is just part of a long and exciting career ahead.
