Enjoying a test run yesterday before it’s official launch during Belfast Pride season, Juice1038 hit the airwaves broadcasting to Northern queers, allies, and anyone who likes great music. Geared towards the LGBT community, listeners can tune in on their radio or check out their website here.
In an interview with RadioToday, a Juice1038 spokesperson said: “LGBT+ people come from all walks of life, and it is our aim to serve as many of our community as possible through an outgoing and inclusive presentation style mixed with speech content tailored for our audience, and a unique music mix heard nowhere else on Northern Irish radio.”
What can eager listeners expect to hear? “Juice will play a mix of upfront and classic dance, remixes, carefully selected Top 40 and gay classics. Our speech content will be of particular interest to the LGBT+ community, including LGBT+ news bulletins and a local issues show which will showcase and discuss the aspirations, concerns, successes and issues affecting our target audience.”
Big day today. Swear we’re not petrified.
Not quite our launch, but you’ll be able to hear us on 103.8FM at some stage later today!

The launch of the station will be a much needed positive boost to Belfast’s LGBT+ community pre-Pride following the recent burglary of Rainbow Project. A health organisation which works to improve the physical, mental and emotional health and well-being of LGBT+ people in Northern Ireland, the offices of Rainbow Project were broken into and thousands of pounds worth of equipment taken.
Anyone interested in helping the organisation back on its feet can give some deserved support on their website.
Speaking of chipping in, if you’re living in the area or don’t mind a commute, Juice1038 would also like to invite volunteers interested in joining their roster of radio presenters to reach out, along with folk looking to volunteer in other areas such as social media, content creation and marketing, to contact them at [email protected].
Best of luck to all at Juice1038, we’ll be tuning in!
