Actress Julianne Moore has praised future co-star Ellen Page for her recent coming out speech.
Julianne Moore, who starred as a lesbian in the acclaimed The Kids Are Alright, told E! News: “[The speech] was really wonderful. I was very happy for her.”
Moore,53, will star as Page’s lover in the upcoming film Freeheld, a drama based on the true story of a police detective who wasn’t able to assign pension benefits to her same-sex partner after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Peter Sollet, known for Nick And Norah’s Infinite Playlist, will direct, and the screenplay will be written by Ron Nyswaner, a screenwriter who rose to prominence in 1993 for the critically acclaimed Philadelphia.
