Kai Bogert – whose birth retraction became a viral hit – has appeared on Australian television to talk coming out as trans, and his mum’s immediate support.

Kai, and his mother Yolanda Bogert, appeared on breakfast programme Today to speak about the now-famous birth notice in The Courier Mail earlier this week.

The 19 year-old explained to the newscaster how he came out as trans to his mum and her reaction thereafter, saying, “It was extremely boring and dull.”

He spoke of how his mother just gave him a hug and proceeded with little fanfare.
