Kim Petras has been dubbed “the new princess of pop” and is breaking down barriers in the music industry by staying true to who she is and not conforming to the industry’s standard in order to be successful. Described as one of the best rising singers in pop, Petras has collaborated with the likes of Charli XCX, Cheat Codes and SOPHIE. She also features on the new Ariana Grande co-written song ‘How It’s Done’ alongside Kash Doll, ALMA and Stefflon Don. The song is the second single from the soundtrack album for the upcoming Charlie’s Angels reboot.

After supporting Troye Sivan on his 2018 Bloom Tour, opening for Rita Ora in Brisbane while on the Phoenix World Tour and having embarked on her debut concert tour the Broken Tour, Kim has announced that she will perform in The Academy, Dublin on February 4 2020 in support of her debut album ‘Clarity’ which was released in June. The album features twelve songs including the lead single ‘Icy’. Stand out bangers on the album include ‘Sweet Spot’, ‘Do Me’ and the break-up anthem ‘Broken’.

Earlier this month Petras dropped her second album, the Halloween-themed ‘Turn Off the Light’ which includes seventeen tracks. Nine of the tracks are new while the other eight were featured on the EP ‘Turn Off the Light, Vol. 1’ which was released in October 2018. Stand out songs on the album are ‘There Will Be Blood’, ‘Death by Sex’ and ‘Wrong Turn’. Elvira, Mistress of the Dark also features on the album.

Since her 2017 debut single ‘I Don’t Want It at All’ reached number one on the Spotify Global Viral Top 50 with the accompanying music video featuring a cameo appearance by Paris Hilton, Kim has quickly made a name for herself in the music industry. She knows just how to keep her LGBT+ fanbase happy by releasing one banger after another and also performed at this year’s Manchester Pride in August.

Petras is breaking down barriers by being an openly transgender artist who is not afraid to take risks and is a role model for young trans people around the world, showing them that they can be whatever they want to be.

Only a few days ago, the singer announced that she will be performing in Dublin as part of the European leg of her Clarity Tour. Tickets go on sale at 9am this Friday, October 18 on Ticketmaster. In the meantime check out Kim serving ice queen realness in the new music video for ‘Icy’, the lead single off her debut album ‘Clarity’. Enjoy!
