LGBT+ Friendly Ways To Get Fit In 2019

From Pilates to rugby, why not get fit with one of these quintessentially queer options!

Members of a pilates get fit class stretch to the side.

The start of a new year offers us the perfect opportunity to establish new health regimes. And what better way to get fit than by getting involved in some of these LGBT+ inclusive health and fitness organisations?

Powered Pink Pilates

Former ballerina Dearbhla Mitchell combined her love of dance with her passion for wellness in her fitness company Powered Pink. Dearbhla runs an array of Pilates and cardio barre classes that emphasise health and mindfulness in her programme. She also offers practical lifestyle and wellbeing advice on her YouTube channel. Powered Pink hosts regular ‘Pilates, Pizza and Pink Gin’ workshops in venues in Dublin, but do nab a ticket in advance as they almost always sell out!

Support GCN

GCN has been a vital, free-of-charge information service for Ireland’s LGBTQ+ community since 1988.

During this global COVID pandemic, we like many other organisations have been impacted greatly in the way we can do business and produce. This means a temporary pause to our print publication and live events and so now more than ever we need your help to continue providing this community resource digitally.

GCN is a registered charity with a not-for-profit business model and we need your support. If you value having an independent LGBTQ+ media in Ireland, you can help from as little as €1.99 per month. Support Ireland’s free, independent LGBTQ+ media.
