From modern takes on old classics to never-before-seen ideas, these are some of our favourite costumes from this year!

With Halloween weekend having come and gone, our favourite LGBTQ+ celebs are taking to social media to share their fantastic costumes for 2023. And since spooky season is also described as “gay Christmas”, famous faces in the LGBTQ+ community have pulled out all the stops to create killer looks.

Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker
Starting off strong, boygenius bandmates Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker recreated that iconic paparazzi photo of Pete Davison and Ariana Grande.

Keke Palmer
Palmer celebrated her baby Leo’s first Halloween with an elaborate mother-son costume. The pair put their own twist on Frankenstein, with the star uploading multiple posts to Instagram, including a reel captioned, “He needed a motha, so he created ME.”

Johnny Sibilly
Queer as Folk actor Johnny Sibilly treated fans to two fabulous looks for Halloween 2023. The first paid homage to Britney Spears as he recreated her November 2003 cover of Esquire, and for the second, he dressed up as a quarterback.

Demi Lovato
Like many in the LGBTQ+ community, Halloween is Lovato’s “favorite time of the year”. Marking the 2023 celebration, they dressed up in a stunning Snow White costume which was so realistic that fans commented she should play the role in the Disney live-action remake.

One of the most unique costumes on this list comes from the House of Avalon queens. They dressed up as (checks notes) the McNugget Buddies Original Set from 1988, and we’re lovin’ it!
