Life - A Longford LGBT Exhibition

‘Life’, a week-long exhibition by Longford LGBT is to be launched in Longford County Library at 7pm tonight.

 

The exhibition is set to include photographs, personal stories and poetry readings by the LGBT people from rural Ireland.

Renowned transgender rights campaigner Dr. Lydia Foy will make an appearance at the event, along with the deputy chairman of Longford County Council, Seamus Butler and Hayley Fox-Roberts of Northwest Pride.

Speaking about the exhibition, chair of the Longford LGBT committee Paul Marsden said, “In the run up to the referendum on marriage equality next year, LGBT visibility is key. This exhibition speaks of the struggles, joys, heartbreaks and loves of LGBT people in rural Ireland”.

A committee member of Longford LGBT will be in attendance between 1pm and 2pm from Tuesday to Friday.
