After last year’s surprise self-titled
album masterpiece , it’s not surprising that Yoncé has released more music out of the blue. She features on the new track from producer Boots.
‘Dreams’ is a duet between Boots, real name Jordy Asher and the Queen Bey. Boots posted the song to his Facebook page yesterday, saying, “So this is the last song on my mixtape. My friend and I recorded it recently and while we were trying to figure out what to do with it, we had an idea.” Did he seriously just refer to Beyoncé as his friend? Jealous.
He goes on to say that all of the proceeds from the sales will go towards ‘Day One’ charity. “Day One is the only organization in New York City solely devoted to the issue of teen dating violence,” he explains.
The relatively unknown Boots is credited all over Beyoncé’s most recent album, with him even penning the song ‘Heaven’.
On working with Beyoncé he says, “I love that the song has me and what I’m doing in my realm and her and what she’s doing in hers, and it’s so completely opposite but they work incredibly together.
“It’s the greatest kind of cosign you could get, from someone who truly, truly believes in you. As gifted and as brilliant as she is, and she is, to be able to believe in me in that regard is a really special thing.”
