Out X Factor star, Lucy Spraggan, is officially off the market as she proposes to her girlfriend on the day her new single comes out.

The 23 year-old singer songwriter announced her engagement to girlfriend of one year, Georgina, today on Instagram. Spraggan got down on one knee during a romantic boat trip on the Thames in London.

She post an intimate photo on Instagram, with the engagement ring clearly visible on her fiancé’s finger. “I guess I’ll confirm the rumours…. Love you all.”

Spraggan came out at the age of 14, but first came into the public eye on 2012’s series of The X Factor UK where she was mentored by Tulisa. She made headlines when she bowed out of the competition due to health reasons. Since then, she has released her new album Join The Club and became embroiled in a public argument with that year’s X Factor winner James Arthur. The singer claimed that Arthur sent her homophobic text messages and then published screen grabs of them online.
