According to celebrity news sites, the openly gay Prime Minister of Luxembourg is set to marry Gauthier Destenay this week after announcing their engagement last August.

However, the politician is keeping quiet about his impending nuptials. “He does not want to put his private life in the public spotlight and he has turned down requests from the celebrity magazines to cover the event,” said a close source.

Luxembourg legalised gay marriage last June, and it is the only country in the world to have both a gay Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Etienne Schneider. Bettel is the only openly gay world leader.
