Madonna Skips Jury Duty, Takes Hamptons Holiday Instead

The Queen of Pop has said in the past that she doesn’t watch TV or read magazines, but what about other ‘normal people stuff’, like jury duty? It would seem she’d rather take a ‘holiday’…and as we know from her 1983 hit, everybody needs one.

The best-selling female recording artist of all time was due to sit on a jury at the Manhattan Supreme Court in New York on May 27, but after providing a sick note from her doctor – her condition was medical exhaustion – she has now been rescheduled to appear at a later date, the New York Daily News has confirmed.

In a twist that will no doubt have mere mortals complaining of double standards, the multi-millionaire entertainer then proceeded to post photos on Instagram together with her family on holiday at their Hamptons getaway riding horses and playing on the beach.

The Michigan-born Material Girl was previously summoned to serve on a jury in Beverly Hills in 2008, waiting four hours only to be eventually dismissed. Time goes by so slowly so slowly for those who wait, indeed.

This week, Madonna continued to tease fans with new details about her much-anticipated follow-up to 2012’s MDNA, which reached number one making her the singer with the most number one albums in the UK, overtaking Elvis Presley.

In her most revealing post yet, the 55 year-old took to Instagram to post what appears to a single cover titled Unapologetic B*tch, captioning the image “You heard it!  #iconic #venividivici#unapologeticbitch #rebelheart #artforfreedom”. The featured shot however, is from her recent photo set with Katy Perry for V magazine. NME magazine is further reporting that Perry may feature on the single.

Last week, Nile Rodgers expressed interest in reuniting with Madonna to record a new track together for the singer’s 13th studio album.
