A man who was viciously attacked in a Florida Burger King after kissing his boyfriend has spoken out, saying the “biggest injury has been all the emotional trauma.”

The March 14 attack, which left victim Jordan Schaeffer in need of medical attention, happened after Schaeffer and his boyfriend shared a kiss at a Miami Beach Burger King Whopper Bar.

Police said unidentified man body-slammed Schaeffer and punched him in the face while locking his legs around his neck in a submission hold. Schaeffer reported that the man called him a “faggot” after witnessing the kiss, before attacking him. Another unknown man stopped people, including Schaeffer’s boyfriend Eric Danko, from halting the attack.

“It was just a simple kiss with my boyfriend. And then right after that kiss, I started walking over and that’s when I was approached by this gentleman,” he told WTVJ-TV. “He then started to use derogatory terms such as ‘fucking faggots. Why don’t you show if you’re tough or not you little faggot.’ It all happened so fast once I got slammed to the ground. It’s just kind of a blur.

“The biggest kind of injury has been all the emotional trauma. We were going to Miami for a relaxing weekend and it was traumatising, to be honest.”

“We’re in 2016 and especially in a city like Miami Beach, where I thought being homosexual would be pretty accepted, it’s just not right that anyone should suffer,” he added. Schaeffer suffered multiple injuries to his lip, nose, face, wrist and back during the attack.

Miami Beach police are still searching for the assailant and have appealed to the public for help.
