The NYPD are searching for a man who randomly attacked the first male couple married at prestigious US military academy West Point.

The couple, Daniel Lennox-Choate (above ,left) and Larry Lennox-Choate (r), both former West Point cadets, were shopping in Manhattan’s Soho district yesterday when a man began verbally abusing them, reports CNN.

The unnamed man then struck Daniel Lennox-Choate in the face, before being ejected from the premise by Larry and fleeing the scene.

“Aside from one fat lip and a sore punching arm, we are fine,” Larry posted on Facebook. “The guy who screamed anti-gay obscenities at us in a bodega before sucker-punching Danny? He left covered in his own blood with his tail between his legs after I handled the situation and tossed him in the street like the coward loser he is.”

“We refuse to be victims and are thankful we can defend ourselves,” Larry added, “but are saddened by the fact that idiots like this guy might not pick two guys who went through Plebe Boxing next time.”

‘Plebe boxing’ is a mandatory part of all male West Point cadets’ basic physical training. New additions to the West Point Academy are referred to as ‘plebes’ by their more senior counterparts. The couple married at the academy’s Cadet Chapel in 2013.

The NYPD said it is investigating the incident as a “bias assault”.
