Your friendly neighbourhood hotspot Mother, together with District 8 / Hidden Agenda, is hosting an epic night of music and spoken word in aid of the campaign to repeal the 8th amendment.
On January 13, Mother, District 8 / Hidden Agenda and the Repeal Project are teaming up for the biggest Dance for Choice fundraiser yet, with all profits going towards the coalition to repeal the 8th.
Organisers want to raise €10,000 for the campaign and they need your help, so get started on those disco stretches ‘cos you’re hitting the dancefloor!
Some of the country’s best DJs and performers, eight incredible acts (all donating their fees) will be on hand to keep you on your feet all night!
There’ll be tunes from the Mother DJs, Jenny Greene, Steven Manning / The Hidden Agenda DJs, Kelly Anne Byrne, Billy Scurry and Sally Cinnamon with an Eight song special from Sing Along Social and spoken word with ‘Come Repeal with Us’ from the guys at Come Rhyme with me, Una Mullally & Vickey Curtis.
“Repeal project is a visibility campaign and fundraising mechanism,” says Anna Cosgrave from The Repeal Project. “The coalition to repeal the 8th is a group of over 60 organisations working towards #repealthe8th and to kick off the new year we wanted to raise some funds.
“Together with the guys at Mother we’ve brought together a great lineup of DJs and music makers and we can’t wait to get together and Dance for choice!”
The Coalition to Repeal the Eighth Amendment is a growing alliance of over 70 organisations including human rights, feminist and pro-choice organisations, trade unions, health organisations, NGOs, community organisations and many others.
