Established in 1979, the National LGBTQ+ Federation (NXF) is Ireland’s longest-running LGBTQ+ NGO, with a mission to connect, cultivate and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and movement.
The NXF envisions an Ireland where all LGBTQ+ people live free and equal, without fear, discrimination or violence. As a registered charity, it oversees the strategic direction of both the NXF and GCN, receiving funding from grants, fundraising initiatives such as The GALAS, and donations.
The NXF has recently appointed a new Chairperson and four new members to the Board.

Matt is particularly passionate about fostering inclusive environments where people can thrive, developing future leaders and supporting positive workplace cultures.
As Chair of NXF, Matt is committed to advancing the organisation’s mission while championing the volunteers, activists, organisations and allies who help make Ireland a more inclusive place for LGBTQ+ people. He believes deeply in the importance of community, representation and creating opportunities for everyone to feel a sense of belonging.

Support GCN
GCN is a free, vital resource for Ireland’s LGBTQ+ community since 1988.
GCN is a trading name of National LGBT Federation CLG, a registered charity - Charity Number: 20034580.
GCN relies on the generous support of the community and allies to sustain the crucial work that we do. Producing GCN is costly, and, in an industry which has been hugely impacted by rising costs, we need your support to help sustain and grow this vital resource.
Supporting GCN for as little as €1.99 per month will help us continue our work as Ireland’s free, independent LGBTQ+ media.
