Joe Caslin’s pro-gay marriage mural on George’s Street has been ruined by the rain.
The mural, titled Claddagh Embrace, has been mostly destroyed by the expected Irish rain.
Artist Joe Caslin created the piece earlier this month, with many naysayers calling for its removal. There was even a petition to save the mural after the Dublin City Council stated that there was no planning permission for the artwork.
Artist Joe Caslin told DailyEdge.ie that he “knew it was going to happen”.
Caslin said that, despite complaints about the piece, the council found that that mural fell within the remit of ‘referendum campaign material’.
Caslin said that plans to erect a ‘girl version’ somewhere in the country are underway – location yet to be revealed.
Apparently heavy rain washed off half of the George’s St mural for #YesEquality. Queue religious extremists claiming it was the work of God.
