Although June and Dublin Pride are in the past, there are still more Pride festivals throughout Ireland, the UK and Europe. If you haven’t had your fill, consider checking these events out:
July 7: Madrid and London Pride
Feeling spontaneous? Both Madrid and London are holding Pride Parades tomorrow, July 7. Participants in Madrid can march from Atocha station to the Plaza de Colón, starting at 5:30 pm. There they can participate in the festival and party until the early hours. Pride seekers in London can meet at 12 pm at Portland Place where they will then parade through Oxford Cirus, Regent Street and more before finishing at Whitehall. At 5 pm, the after-party starts, where there will be live music and performances.
August 3 – 5: Brighton Pride
The UK’s largest LGBT+ festival, Brighton Pride, is taking place the first weekend in August. There will be a Pride Parade, Pride dog show, village party and numerous musical performances and DJs. Britney Spears is even headling the main stage! Don’t miss the Pride festival that was named one of the best in the world by the Loney Planet Guide. Tickets are on sale for a variety of events.
August 3 – 5: Amsterdam Pride
You haven’t seen an authentic Pride float unless you’ve been to Amsterdam Pride. This year, the Canal Parade will start at 12:30 pm on Saturday, August 4. The most popular spots are on Prinsengracht and at the Magere Brug on Amstel river. Street parties will also be occurring! In the evening, the party continues in a variety of clubs and venues. You can find tickets and the schedule here.
August 5: Cork Pride
On Sunday, August 5 at 12 pm, Cork Pride will start their assembly at the Grand Parade before the other parade kicks off at 2 pm! You won’t have to go far because where the parade ends, the after-party, starting at 3 pm, begins! Paul Ryder, from Ireland’s Got Talent, will host the event and a variety of live music and performances will take place. Groups, companies and organisations can still register to participate.
August 13 – 19: Galway Pride
The Galway Pride Parade will be taking place on Saturday, August 18. They’re still taking applications for organisations to participate in the march or for volunteers to help out. Attendees can expect the Pride of Galway awards amongst a variety of events bringing the LGBT+ community together.
September 5 – 9: Folsom Berlin
Folsom Berlin is a BDSM and leather subculture street fair that takes place every year in September. It is the biggest fetish event in Europe. There will be plenty of events and parties to attend including a fetish boat party, live music, a dungeon party and more. Depending on what you’re into, tickets vary in price.
November 5 – 11: Maspalomas Winter Pride (Spain)
If you’re feeling a lack of Pride in November, consider taking a holiday to Spain for Maspalomas Winter Pride. There will be a variety of performances from DJs and Draq Queens, a gay boat cruise and, of course, a pride walk. This crazy, party rainbowpalooza has tickets on sale ranging from €15 to €400.
Just because Dublin already had their Pride, doesn’t mean the fun is over. Celebrate all summer by attending these rainbow parties.
