Calling all LGBTQ+ couples, a new season of The Ultimatum: Queer Love is on the way, and casting calls are officially open!

We may still be recovering from the drama and heartache of season one, but Netflix is ready for the next batch of queer couples who are at a phase in their relationship where they are “ready to marry or move on.” Those brave enough to broadcast their relationship challenges on reality television are invited to apply for season two, which will air next year.

Interested couples will be asked to complete a questionnaire about themselves and should be prepared to answer questions like: “Have you ever temporarily ended the relationship with your partner? If so, why?” and “Describe your biggest issue within the relationship.” Those applying will also be asked to share links to all of their social media profiles.

And it sounds like there may be more than one new season in the works! Casting director Chanel Perrillo announced: “Our casting team is back at it casting couples for possible future seasons!”

In May 2023, Netflix premiered the first season of The Ultimatum: Queer Love which featured couples made up of women and non-binary people.

During the series, each couple ‘breaks up’ and has the chance to date the rest of the contestants to see if they feel a connection with another person on the show. Participants are then paired up with a new partner, and they begin a three-week trial marriage. After the experiment, each contestant has to decide whether they want to get married or move on.

Season one was full of unpredictable drama between Xander and Vanessa, Lexi and Raelyn, Yoly and Mal, Mildred and Tiff, and Sam and Aussie.

One contestant, Tiff, shared their own advice and warnings for those interested in applying. They said the show is: “not for the faint of heart”, and no matter how you present yourself on screen, be prepared to have “a lot of haters” when the show airs.
