Following a petition to cancel the Dublin show of a Polish comedian, the venue hosting the event has cancelled the booking.
In a statement released to GCN, the Raddison Blu Dublin Airport said:
“This event is no longer being held in our hotel due to offensive content which goes against our viewpoint as a hotel. As we were not aware of this at time of booking, we apologize for any offense caused. Thank you for your feedback.”

Wojciech Cejrowki has previously had shows in Galway, Belfast and Cork cancelled following protests by the LGBT+ community.
The protests were organised due to the comedian’s history of homophobic, Islamophobic and misogynistic content.
The change.org petition, which received almost 300 signatures, says that “Mr Cejrowski’s career has been built on inciting hatred and violence against those who identify as LGBT and making defamatory comments about Women’s rights and Islam.”
They also state that the views held by the Polish comedian do not reflect the Polish or broader community in Ireland.
“Furthermore, we condemn the abuse which has been directed to our friends and colleagues from the Polish Community who have since spoken out against Mr Cejrowski. There is no place for hate speech in our community.
“Those who deny that the increase in anti-LGBT and other hate-crime incidents are a direct result of bigotry and use of highly abusive language are failing to acknowledge reality. we are urging our political and community representatives in Ireland and Northern Ireland to speak out against this performance.”
The news of the cancellation has been mostly met with relief, but not everyone is happy.
One tweet defended Mr Cejrowski’s current show, which they say contains no offensive content:
“Radisson, you have been lied to! There is 0 offensive content in Mr Cejrowski’s 100% family friendly travel themed comedy shows! He is a distinguished member of the NY-based Explorer’s Club, a bestselling travel author and has been host of hugely popular travel shows in Poland!”
The event organisers are yet to make a public statement about the cancellation. It is believed that when this has happened in past instances, organisers send ticket holders and email with information about a new secret venue.
We have attempted to contact event organisers for a statement.
Update September 6 16:00: The Finnstown Castle has been confirmed as the new venue for Cejrowski’s show which is set to take place tonight, September 6. We have contacted the management of the Hotel.
Update September 6 17:00: The Finnstown Castle has confirmed that it has now cancelled the event. In a statement made to GCN, a spokesperson said: “Once we were made aware of the performer’s history, we instantly made the decision to cancel the event.”
